Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Creative Arts Performance
Each Friday, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participate in our Creative Arts program, building skills in drama, music, and dance. Together, they work towards presenting one major performance each year, showcasing their creativity and teamwork. Our program is proudly supported by community member Mark, who shares his many talents to help students develop confidence and skills within these areas.
Family Celebration Days
Each year, we celebrate Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Grandparents’ Day with special events that bring our school community together. These occasions are a wonderful way to recognise the important role families play in our students’ lives and to share memorable moments of connection and appreciation.
Celebrating NAIDOC Day Together
Each year, Milbrodale Public School proudly joins with the Singleton Small Schools to celebrate NAIDOC Day — a highlight of our cultural calendar. The event is supported by MACH Energy and brings together local Elders, Clontarf Foundation and NASCA Girls Academy youth leaders, and students from across the region for a day of rich cultural learning and connection. Activities are led by young Aboriginal leaders and elders, sharing stories and culture as well as a visit to the sacred Baiame Caves. This full-day celebration deepens understanding, respect, and pride in Aboriginal culture and history.
Active Kids, Strong Foundations
At Milbrodale Public School, every student from Kindergarten to Year 6 participates in weekly sport programs designed to build confidence, teamwork, and fundamental movement skills. Through the Australian Government’s Sporting Schools program, we receive funding each term to deliver a variety of sports and connect students with local community clubs. These programs give our students opportunities to try new sports, learn from qualified coaches, and stay active in a fun, supportive environment — inspiring healthy habits that last a lifetime.
Singleton Small Schools Sport
As part of the Singleton Small Schools network, our students build sporting skills and friendships through Gala Days and sporting events held each term. These days give students the chance to learn teamwork, try new sports, and connect with peers from neighbouring schools in a fun and supportive environment.
Community Connections
Milbrodale Public School is proud to be an active part of our local community. Each year, our students and staff participate in events such as the Bulga ANZAC Day Service, the Truckers Memorial, and the Milbrodale Mountain Classic. These occasions give our students meaningful opportunities to contribute, show respect, and celebrate the strong community spirit that defines our region.
"Thank you for making this a safe place for our children to enjoy learning from and for the amount of effort you have put in to help them reach their individual goals. We appreciate the time, hard work and heart that goes into making Milbrodale School what it is.” — a Milbrodale Public School family
