About our school

Milbrodale Public School is a kindergarten to Year 6 school serving the village of Bulga and the rural districts of Milbrodale, Howes Valley and Garlands Valley, in the south-western corner of the Hunter Valley.

The school is supported by an active parent body and plays a significant role within the village and the surrounding rural community. The school has a caring, family-based ethic, which seeks to advance the learning of all students through a comprehensive curriculum catering for individual needs.

What makes our school unique is the focus on individual learning. Due to our small size, students have the opportunity to experience facets of life and education that they may miss out on at larger schools.

We have also participated in newspaper production activities, with one of our students winning an award for her photography skills.

Most importantly, our smaller numbers means that we can provide personal support in literacy and numeracy. We currently provide individual learning programs in literacy and numeracy for every student. We also have great resources and an excellent learning environment. Our programs, access to technology, frog pond, vegetable garden and peaceful location really set our school apart.
